THE CAPTAIN’S LOG · 10/11/2026

Ahoy, Travelers!

The weather is cooling down, the leaves are beginning to change colors, and apples and pumpkins are taking over the grocery stores. This is my favorite time of the year, and I can’t wait to share it with y’all at the many events I’ll be at over the next few months!

I also have a surprise to share with you. 👀

THE TALES OF DAARIA

I stealth-published a TTRPG book!

It contains 3 one-shot adventures and will be available only at in-person events! I will be selling the book on its own, along with a book+dice bundle.

If you’re a D&D nerd or just want to read more about the world of Daaria, this is for you! Now keep on scrolling to find out where you can pick one of these bad boys up.

This is a childhood dream come true - I’ll be the featured indie author for the final weekend of the GA Ren Fest Fall Fling! Come say hi, grab a turkey leg, and leave with some books!

Coming to one of these events? Reach out and let me know by replying to this email, would love to see you there!

BABY UPDATES

We’re having a boy, and boy is he big! I clocked in at 21 weeks this weekend, and according to the ultrasound visit we had this week, he’s already 1 lb. I have quite the baby bump to reflect his rapid growth, and I’m looking forward to the colder months where I can wear all kinds of hoodies and sweatpants.

We do already have a name picked out, and I’ll simply say, he will make quite the brave hobbit.

INDIE READS

Being pregnant means my brain is shot, but I did manage to finish two books when I went on vacation at the end of August. Two completely opposites ends of the spectrum, but I loved both of them and highly recommend both!

In classic Jesse style, “Doomsday Dogs” is a goofy, gritty gorefest. It’s a novella, which means it’s over before you want it to be, but I absolutely love its twist on “zombie apocalypses”.

I love that the narrator had their own (snarky) personality despite not being a physical character in the story. It fit in with the rest of the cast, who were all campy, fun characters.

On the other end of the spectrum is this delightful romance novel. I'm normally not a romance genre enjoyer, but I thoroughly enjoyed the relationship between Lainey and Sam. They felt like real people beyond their relationship with one another, and I found myself rooting for them both over the course of the novel.

SEE YOU NEXT TIME!

I hope ya’ll enjoy the autumn season and are able to come see me at one of my events! Happy fall and safe travels.
